Allergies?

So I dont know if Landon has allergies but he has had a snotty nose, sneezes alot, itchy eyes and only one eye gets "sleep" in the morning. I feel so bad b/c he seems so miserable in the morning. Anyone else having trouble or had trouble with that??

My mom is coming up next week-thankfully...I finally get to go to the dentist and maybe catch a nice massage and/or pedicure, oh and get my hair done-(way overdue). I'm also trying to pick up some shifts at work b/c I cant stand to see the number on my paycheck...

I put Landon down for a nap in his crib. He usually just naps in his swing or something during the day. we'll see how long i get...=)

Has he always had the "sleepy" eye? Belle had yellow goopy eyes until she was nearly 4 months old. The doctor said that it was just a blocked tear duct and would resolve itself by the time she was 6 months, and it did at 4 months. It was pretty bad, but was nothing serious. He did test the "goop" to make sure it wasn't an infection when she was a couple of weeks old, but it wasn't.
And I don't know if other mom's experienced this, but Belle seemed to sneeze quite often, so maybe it's just a baby thing.
And the snotty nose... if it's a runny nose, then maybe it's teething-related. Their noses run when they're teething.
Itchy eyes... maybe he's sleepy and rubbing them?

Of course, I'm no doctor and only have one baby so I could be totally off, but I'd go ahead and call the nurse/doctor and ask about it. It never hurts to ask! :)

Isn't it great to have your mom visit!? I always get so much done and LOVE the extra naps that I can get with her there!

Mom's are definitely the best.

Have you tried putting a humidifier in his room at night. When Zach got stuffy when he had a cold the doctor said to keep a humidifier in his room and it would keep things moving. I know you said snotty and not stuffy but it might help get everything out.

Before we moved, I had the humidifier on in Leah's room every time she slept. I didn't notice anything significant, BUT everything I read said it was a good idea for everyone, not just babies.

I remember at one point I thought Leah might be allergic to our cats because I saw symptoms similar to that. She wasn't though.

Moving to crib is a wonderful thing. Do it ASAP. I wish I had done it sooner. Have fun with Mama!

Hey

How funny that I am only reading this now because for some reason Andrew is taking a nap in his crib also. He usually naps in his swing in the day. Does Landon sleep in his crib at night??? Andrew sleeps there at night but likes to swing during the day. Andrew had pink eye last week so when I hear goopy eye that's all I think about. I think he got it at the pedi office. We went for his 4 month visit and the next day he had pink eye. Go figure!!!!

Well good luck and enjoy your mom's visit.

Halle caught a cold when she was about 3 months old and the doctor said that colds last three weeks with babies.. and it did. She was stuffy and runny for three whole weeks. When it cleared up, it was completely gone though. Definitely ask your doctor though because it is possible that he has allergies. Keep us posted. Hope he's feeling better soon!
